DESCRIPTION:Durga Puja (Durgotsob/Durgutsob) is one of the grandest Hindu festivals\, especially celebrated in West Bengal\, Assam\, Odisha\, Tripura\, Bihar\, Jharkhand\, and Bangladesh. It honors Goddess Durga’s victory over the demon Mahishasura\, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. \nCultural Events & Highlights:\n\n\nMondop preparation:\nSkilled artisans craft the mondop of Goddess Durga and her children\, which is       beautifully decorated and worshipped.\nPandal Hopping:\nTemporary\, artistic structures called pandals are set up\, often with unique themes ranging from traditional temples to modern art installations.\nRituals & Worship:\n\nMahalaya marks the beginning\, invoking the goddess.\nDaily rituals include Pushpanjali (flower offerings)\, Sandhi Puja\, and Sindoor Khela (married women applying vermilion).\n\n\nCultural Programs:\n\nDance\, drama\, and music performances inspired by mythology and folk traditions.\nRecitation of poems\, plays\, and storytelling sessions.\n\n\nFood & Feasts:\nCommunity feasts (bhog) are served\, usually including khichuri\, labra\, chutney\, and sweets.
